WBNT-FM the Hive 105 is a 3000 watt, FCC licensed Class B1 FM radio station broadcasting on 105.5 megahertz with offices and main studios located at 1126 Buffalo Road, Oneida, Tennessee, WBNT-FM’s primary coverage area is Scott County, Tennessee, with secondary coverage in Campbell, Morgan and Fentress Counties in Tennessee and McCreary County, KY. WBNT-FM plays a variety mix of adult contemporary hits, along with those new country songs which cross-over into other music formats.
Located 65 miles northwest of Knoxville, TN, Scott County’s isolated from the “big” metro influences. In Scott County, WBNT-FM is the only radio station that provides coverage of all local events and activities.
We have different specialty shows that play throughout the week, on Wednesdays starting at 10:00AM with DJ JD we’ve got the 80s midweek mixtape sponsored by citizen's gas until 2:00PM. On Thursdays Starting at 9:00AM we've got highland telephones, Ol Time rock and roll Café with DJ MAK Playing the best of the 50s,60s, and 70s up until 2:00PM! For Saturday, we have Emerald Isle bluegrass at 8PM and stewpot radio at 9PM with Willy B! And on Sundays we have DJ Kynlie broadcasting our gospel programs that streams on T.V. And radio.
Starting off at 5:00 AM throughout the week, buckle up and get ready for a wild ride with Willy B. until 10:00 AM and DJ JD comes in and plays new hits then DJ Logan will be with you on your ride home from 3:00 - 6:00 PM when DJ Grayson will finish out the night until 10:00 PM when the automation begins where we stream all night long, so you never miss a beat on the Hive 105!
Rev. Leonard Monroe Bertram went home to be with the Lord on April 11, 2024, at his home.
He was born on August 8, 1945, to the late Douglas “Doug” and Emma Myers Bertram. Leonard was a lifetime resident of Scott County. Called to preach, he was ordained on March 4, 1978. He was the Pastor of Pleasant Home Separate Baptist Church in Rugby for many years, and he was a current member on the Concord Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Bertram was a Korean War Veteran, where he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He started running heavy equipment in his teens. He worked on various road projects in and around Scott County. He spent years working in the strip mines. Later, he worked and retired from TDOT. As County Commissioner of the 2nd district, he was able to do many things for the community including: The Elgin Community Center, Glenmary Park, and Robbins Park, where he did most of the equipment operations. In his free time, he loved and enjoyed fishing and spending with his family. He was a man of wisdom and inspiration to all that knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Thelma Cochran Bertram; 1 infant brother, brothers Johnny and wife Carol Bertram, George and wife Wilma Bertram, Claude “Chess” Bertram, Terry Bertram, Marshal and wife Sheila Bertram; sister-in-law: Azel Bertram; Brother-in-law, James Larry Goodman.
He is survived by his children: Son, Wendell Gene Cochran of Oneida; Daughter: Melissa Daugherty of Pioneer; Son: Sheldon and wife Crystal Bertram of Concord; Brothers: Jackie Bertram, Dicky Bertram and wife Janie and Carl “Butch” Jones and wife Judy; Sisters: Judy Coats and husband Norman, Ann Goodman, and Sue Bauswell and husband Paul; Sister-in-law Jacquetta Bertram; Grandchildren: Brian and David Cochran, Alenna and Xander Daugherty, Spencer Monroe Bertram, Donaven and Cody McBride; Great-Grandchildren: Briley and Jonah Cochran, Chloe and Brinley Mason; Special Fishing Buddy: Bill Harness; Many other special relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. until time of funeral service to begin at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Concord Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Davis and Rev. Jerry Dishman officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by American Legion Post# 136.

Sue Etta ‘Susie’ Craig Smith, age 80, of Oneida, TN, passed away on Friday, April. 12, 2024, at her home with her family around her. She was born in Oneida, TN on February 13, 1944, to the late Zilphia West Craig. Sue was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Oneida, where she taught Sunday School for many years and loved singing in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years: Philip M. Smith; mother: Zilphia Craig; sister: Angelyn Craig Terry; and brother: James Roy Craig.
Sue is survived by her daughters: Jeannie Smith Duncan and husband Tony of Oneida, and Shellie Smith Valentine and husband Jesse of Knoxville; son: Philip Michael Smith and wife Alison of Clinton, TN; grandchildren: Daniel Duncan and wife Jamie of Conroe, TX, Courtney Duncan King and husband Jacob of Oneida, Noah Duncan and wife Haley of Oneida, Hannah Smith Pack and husband Logan of Knoxville, Rachel and Julianne Smith of Clinton, and Jaden Valentine of Knoxville; seven great grandchildren: Mackenzie and Murphy Duncan of Conroe, TX, Azalea, Josiah and Solomon Luke King, and Kashton and Kinley Duncan of Oneida; sister-in-law: Anita Craig of Oneida; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
The family extends a special thank you to her two special caregivers: Anita and Brittany who loved her dearly, and whom she loved dearly.
Friends may visit with the Smith family on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Oneida with Dr. Sean Lee and Bro. Tony Duncan officiating. Music will be provided by the First Baptist Church Choir, Allen Martin, and Lisa Cotton.
Committal service will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Litton Cemetery in Oneida, TN. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Noah Duncan, Jacob King, Jaden Valentine, Logan Pack, Austin Elliott and Nathan Huff. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Daniel Duncan and Adam Chambers.
